The training course outline introduces that wastewater shall not be managed as a waste. It should be collected and treated to a standard that allow its reuse in aquaculture, landscaping, groundwater recharge and agriculture. Appropriate wastewater treatment technologies shall be adopted with due consideration to economizing in energy consumption, and quality assurance of the effluent to promote safe reuse practices that will improve food safety, health and livelihood. In addition, the training will provide validated techniques related to treated wastewater reuse which can help in providing solutions to bottlenecks as a result of reusing treated wastewater in the region.
