To avoid the excessive salt buildup in the soil that could result in the use of saline treated wastewater, in particular, in case the soil electric conductivity approaches the crop-specific threshold set by the farmer.

To calculate the optimal mix of treated wastewater and freshwater to be applied in order to invert the increasing trend in soil salt concentration, so as to ensure soil health.
